So… 2007 is almost over… How’d it go?

With all of the warm intentions of updating this blog more frequently, I relied on the full potential of “intention” and all the full reality of… “OOPS!” By that I mean that I have not updated this site/blog nearly as much as I could or as much as I’d like to.

Right now I’m at my friend’s apartment on Mercer Island, in Washington state. He’s packing for the trip tomorrow when we move his stuff to CA. It’ll be a fun road trip and a good time in a little bit warmer and less rainy area. I’m realizing how blessed I am to have good friends in multiple states. Speaking of multiple states, we had a number of events happen in our family this year that made it be really special.

Both of the TGetsch girls got married. Naomi in June and Becky in August. Naomi lives in Stillwater, MN. Becky lives in Manitou Springs, CO. All of the TGetsch boys had big life changes. Terry (the youngest) graduated from Army Ranger School in Fort Benning, GA. Tim left Microsoft in Redmond, WA, after 7 years, to start working more on CheckOutMyCards.com, but actually ended up geting a new job with another software company. (I’m not saying “another” because I mean Google or anything like that. I just don’t remember the name of the company that’s in downtown Seattle, a few blocks from where I work.) And, I started a new job in March… working in downtown Seattle, as I just mentioned.

So, the folks are empty-nesters. They call and email a bit more often, but it’s fun and somtimes just plain old cute when Mom calls and leaves a message saying, “Oh, I meant to call Becky but got your number instead.”

I’m still living in Bellevue, WA. I’ve been in the same apartment for a little over 4 years. It’s decent and they haven’t raised rent, and the rent is less than what I’d pay in interest on a loan for a house or condo. So, I’m just chillin’ for a bit. I would like to get my own condo or something of the sort. But, right now I’m pretty much content.

I like being content and I realize it’s rare. Hey, that’s life. A lot of life has changed over the past few years. Hey, that’s life.

Well, I’m rambling here, but that’s ok. I’m just doing a brief update of my family. For now, that’s enough to get you fairly current. If you want more info, you’re welcome to leave a comment here or contact me otherwise.
